I'm on the Dark Tournament arc, and it's pretty dope. The only issue I have is 50 episodes in, it has very little actual "spirit detective stuff.
The show is ONLY tournaments or gauntlets, but at least the fights aren't dragged out, and they still make time for character development.

She's asked this a couple of times. She's naming off places she likes to do that I've already mentioned I liked. Also, when I got back to my desk earlier, she IM'ed her number.

I mean, I have trouble with signals, but goddamn if I'm not gonna find any signals more telling than these. These are pretty fucking blatant.

TopicAnother episode of Pokemon banned in U.S. - Ash painted himself like a Passimian

https://gamerant.com/pokemon-sun-moon-anime-episode-ban/

In its early days, a number of episodes of the Pokemon animes English dub were banned for a number of reasons. Episode bans have occurred rarely since then, but now an episode of the Pokemon Sun and Moon English dub has been banned, with it originally set to air at the end of July or early August.

The episode in question is episode 64 of the Sun and Moon anime, and the 1,003rd episode of the series in general. It has no English title, and originally aired in Japan this past March. The episode revolves around the Pokemon called Passimian, and during the course of the plot, Ash wears face paint to disguise himself as one of the creatures in a manner that somewhat resembles the racist practice of blackface.

This isnt the first time an episode of the Pokemon English dub was banned because of blackface. In fact, the first-generation Pokemon Jynx is infamous for how it resembles an actor wearing blackface, and many English dub episodes featuring the creature, even ones where it makes a very brief cameo, have been banned. This includes the episodes Holiday Hi-Jynx, Stage Fight!, The Mandarian Island Miss March, and episode 250, which lacks an English title.

Episodes of the Pokemon English dub have been banned for other reasons as well. This includes the episode Beauty and the Beach, which was banned for its sexual content, and episode 35, which was banned for featuring handguns, with one character even pointing a gun right at Ashs head.

Episode 35 is the only banned episode that seems to have caused some serious continuity issues in the long-running and still popular anime series, as it shows how Ash caught 30 Tauros in the Safari Zone. Other unaired, pulled, or otherwise banned episodes of the English dub dont appear to have had major ramifications on the overall plot of the series, and that appears to be the case with the most recently banned episode as well.

The Pokemon anime stands as one of the longest-running series in television history, and it shows no signs of slowing down. As long as Nintendo and Game Freak keep pumping out new games, one has to imagine that the anime will continue releasing new episodes to match them. And if the series keeps making popular decisions like bringing back fan-favorite characters Brock and Misty, one has to imagine that it will maintain its popularity moving forward.

However, the real controversy surrounding the actors involved are the two names not mentioned. THR was unable to learn the identities of these controversial political figures, but Daily Beast has the scoop. According to their report, controversial conservative pundits Tomi Lahren and Milo Yiannopoulos have scored cameos in the film. Lahren has a minor role, but apparently, Milo has a cameo thats sure to piss people off.

Its best just to quote from the Daily Beast for this scene description:

In Yiannopoulos yet-to-be-filmed scene, Dr. Nathanson (Loeb) witnesses Dr. Sopher (Milo)who is described in the script as an Anglo-Jew from India, with an unusual habit of an awkward giggle at the end of every sentenceperform 32 abortions between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., an alleged event Dr. Nathanson recounted in his book The Hand of God. You blokes are missing out on a fortune over there in the colonies, Dr. Sopher tells Dr. Nathanson after performing the procedures.

Filming for Roe v. Wade is scheduled to run until July 15, and Loeb is hoping for a January release. But judging by all the drama behind the scenes, itll be a miracle if the directors are able to deliver this bundle of joy to the world.

https://theplaylist.net/roe-v-wade-secret-20180706/

One of the most controversial films of the year is shooting right now, and you probably dont even have a clue. And thats not meant as a jab against your intelligence, instead, it speaks volumes about the actual production. Nick Loeb and Cathy Allynare currently filming Roe v. Wade, but they really dont want anyone to know about it. And for good reason, because once people find out what the film is about, everyone turns against them. Even their cast and crew.

Earlier this week, THR had a report about the film, and it included some stories about how Loeb and Allyn were intentionally keeping the details about their pro-life film about the supreme court case from cast and crew because they knew people would be upset. Because once people working on the film became aware of the content, its led to numerous crew members storming off set, locations being shut down, and even the actress set to play Jane Roe in the film quitting.

Now, you might be thinking that these people have a right to tell whatever story they want, as long as they have the means to do it. And thats completely true. However, in a follow-up article about the production from The Daily Beast, it appears that the writer-directing duo has been misleading everyone and filming secret cameos featuring controversial political figures. Long story short, the production sounds like a complete shitshow, at best, and an elaborate con game, at worst.

When I read the first two pages, I was like what the fuck is this? one crew member said. The Daily Beasts report is from various cast and crew, who are obviously keeping their anonymity.

The trouble began on Day 1 when the original director of the film and the first AD both quit. From there, Loeb and Allyn (who have no experience) assumed directorial duties. The duo gave location scouts a whitewashed synopsis which has been used to secure locations for filming. However, in multiple instances, including at Tulane University, once the location found out what the film was truly about, production was booted. This has led to a moratorium on letting people read the script. That includes the cast.

Theyre not keeping people in the loop with the script, one crew member said. When people finally receive the script, theyve dropped out really fast. After people started dropping out, they said, OK, dont send people the scripts anymore. Instead, theyve been changing lines and scenes before they shoot.

And before you think this is some amateur film that has no real talent behind it, you have to hear who theyve cast for this ridiculous venture. Jon Voight, Robert Davi, Corbin Bernsen, John Schneider, Steve Guttenberg, William Forsythe, Wade Williams and Richard Portnow have all been cast as Supreme Court justices. Stacy Dash (Clueless) is in the cast, as well. And Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, is a producer and has a cameo in the film.

Again, racist people speaking their minds isn't a new thing. They've done so for centuries. The new thing is the fact that they're doing it even while being recorded for the world to see and aren't the slightest bit concerned about hiding their faces these days.

It's so weird. All racist people I knew growing up acted this way candidly, and around a small group of people almost discreetly. But when social media took off like this, it's almost like they just said "fuck it!" and just let all the hate out.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/steve-ditko-dead-spider-man-creator-was-90-1125489

Artist Steve Ditko, who co-created Spider-Man and Doctor Strange with Stan Lee, has died at age 90.

The New York Police Department confirmed his death to The Hollywood Reporter. No cause of death was announced. Ditko was found dead in his apartment on June 29 and it is believed he died about two days earlier.

In 1961, Ditko and Lee created Spider-Man. Lee, the editor-in-chief at Marvel Comics, gave Ditko the assignment after he wasn't satisfied with Jack Kirby's take on the idea of a teen superhero with spider powers. The look of Spider-Man the costume, the web shooters, the red and blue design all came from Ditko. Spider-Man first appeared in Amazing Fantasy No. 15. The comic was an unexpected hit and the character was spun off into The Amazing Spider-Man. Ditko helped create such classic Spider-Man characters as Doctor Octopus, Sandman, the Lizard, and Green Goblin. Starting with issue No. 25 Ditko received a plot credit in addition to his artist credit. Ditko's run ended with issue No. 38.

In 1963, Ditko created the surreal and psychedelic hero Doctor Strange. The character debuted in Strange Tales No. 110 and Ditko continued on the comic through issue No. 146, cover dated July 1966.

After that Ditko, left Marvel Comics over a fight with Lee, the causes of which have always remained murky. The pair had not been on speaking terms for several years. Ditko never explained his side and Lee claimed not to really know what motivated Ditko's exit. The best explanation suggests Ditko was frustrated at Lee's oversight and his failure to properly share credit for Ditko's contributions to Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. The charismatic Lee was always the face of Marvel Comics but Ditko (and Jack Kirby) thought Lee was more interested in self-promotion than selling the company and in the process implied that he deserved the lion's share of the credit for creating the characters in the Marvel Universe.

Ditko went on to work for Charlton, DC Comics and other small independent publishers. He returned to Marvel in 1979, where he worked on Machine Man and the Micronatus and he continued working for them as a freelancer in the 1990s. Among his last creations was Squirrel Girl in 1992, who has become a cult favorite in recent years.

After his work at Marvel, Ditko is probably best known for creating Mr. A in 1967. The character embodied Ayn Rand's objectivist philosophy, which Ditko was an ardent believer in n from the mid-1960s on. Other Objectivist-inspired characters Ditko created included The Question, Hawk and Dove and the Creeperall for DC Comics.

The reclusive Ditko was known as the "J.D. Salinger" of comics. From the 1970s on, he rarely spoke on the record, declining almost every interview request. He sat out the publicity booms that accompanied the Spider-Man films and the Doctor Strange movie.

We didnt approach him. Hes like J.D. Salinger. He is private and has intentionally stayed out of the spotlight like J.D. Salinger," Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson told THR in 2016. "I hope he goes to see the movie wherever he is, because I think we paid homage to his work."

Ditko maintained a Manhattan studio until his death, where he continued to write and draw, though how much and what unpublished material remain is unknown.

TopicNicolas Cage cast as Spider-Man Noir
Hayame Zero
07/05/18 9:54:23 PM

http://collider.com/spider-man-into-the-spider-verse-adds-nicolas-cage/#images

If you want Nicolas Cage voicing superheroes, then 2018 is your year. We already knew he was voicing Superman in the upcoming Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, but it looks like Cage has another superhero on his slate this year. Weve learned that Cage is set to play Spider-Man Noir in the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

If youre a bit confused by this, allow us and Wikipedia to help. For starters, the whole concept of Into the Spider-Verse is that theres a multi-verse, and there are Spider-Men in different dimensions. Different dimensions create different Spider-Men. One of those dimensions is the Noir dimension. Per Wikipedia:

In this reality, Peter Parker is an inexperienced yet idealistic apprentice of a respected yet troubled reporter, who is accidentally bitten by a illegally imported and highly venomous spider, while secretly investigating a smuggling ring of ancient spider statues, but instead of killing him, the incident imbues him with super-human abilities, similar to that of a spider. Using advantage of his new abilities, Parker begins to wage a one-man war against the criminal underworld in New York City as a brutal and feared vigilante, known as the Spider-Man, partly to avenge the death of his uncle: Ben Parker, at the hands of the citys major crime lord: Norman Osborn.

I doubt well get all of that in the movie since the focus is more on Miles Morales being tutored by another dimensions Peter Parker, but its cool to note that there will be other Spider-Men in this movie and that theyre getting some recognizable talent for the voices. It will be interesting to see how many other Spider-Men will be swinging around Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse opens December 14th and also features the voices of Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, and Liev Schreiber.
